What is Daktarin Oral Thrush Gel?
Daktarin Oral Gel provides treatment for fungal infections in your mouth or throat. It works by destroying fungus, oral thrush and associated bacteria that may be present.

How does Daktarin Oral Thrush Gel Relieve your Mouth?

Daktarin gel has a pleasant taste that soothes irritation and reduces the burning sensation in your mouth and gums while preventing further outbreaks or mouth infections.

How Do Daktarin Oral Thrush Gel Work?

Daktarin Oral Gel is an antifungal medicine used for treating fungi and yeast infections. It works by interfering with their cell membranes.
This stops the fungi protecting itself, preventing it from growing and causing it to disappear, making Daktarin Oral Gel a powerful antifungal gel.
For extra healing benefits, Daktarin Oral Gel should be held in your mouth for as long as possible before swallowing.
How to take Daktarin Oral Gel:
• Adult, Elderly and Children aged 6 years and over: Apply a small amount of gel directly to the affected area with a clean finger four times a day. The gel should be kept in the mouth for as long as possible.
• For oral candidosis, dental prostheses should be removed at night and brushed with the gel.
• Children aged 4 months – 6 years: Apply a small amount of gel directly to the affected area with a clean finger twice daily. The gel should be kept in the mouth for as long as possible.
• The lower age limit should be increased by 1-2 months for infants who are pre-term, or infants exhibiting slow neuromuscular development.
Caution when using Daktarin Oral Gel:
• Daktarin oral gel is sticky. You should be careful to ensure that the gel doesn't obstruct the throat, as this may cause choking, particularly in children. The gel should not be put at the back of the throat, and the prescribed dose may be divided into smaller portions.
• If you have false teeth (dentures) and are treating oral thrush you should brush the gel onto your dentures after you take them out at night to kill any fungus that may be on the dentures.
• Treatment with this medicine should be continued for two days after the symptoms have cleared up to ensure the infection is fully treated and prevent it from coming back.
• Take at regular intervals.
• Complete the prescribed course unless otherwise directed.
